The editing is fabulous.  All the angles, music, the story…all I can say is the best work I have ever seen. Check out their wedding stories, I’m sure you will love them!

‘Recycle’ Old Greeting Cards

card 4Have you ever wondered what to do with old greeting cards? Maybe its just me, but I have a really hard time throwing them away. Well I recently ran into the biggest card bombardment of my life…I got married. We received a mountain of cards, and I knew there was no way I could keep them all.  I decided to keep a select few (ones that wrote a sweet note inside/ something worth reading again) and cut up the rest.  Wedding cards usually have great love poems and really cute pictures.  I store all of my “scrapings” in a box for easy access when doing projects.  They are super useful when scrapbooking of making collages. Click here for an example of a wedding collage where these cutouts were used.

Wedding Invitation Collage

frame pic 5

My sister in law, who just happens to be my best friend (yes…best friends married brothers…I know, I know…dream come true!!) made me this photo collage for us as a wedding gift. She used our wedding invitation as a focal point and collaged around it. I absolutely love it!

So when I received another friends invitation in the mail, I knew I had to make one for her too. I hope she loves hers as much as I do mine. I found this frame at Goodwill for $0.99. After I took it all apart, I knew it had great potential.

I glued a 1inch thick piece of Styrofoam to the back of the wedding invitation, then glued it to the center of the background. This not only made it a focal point of the frame but gave a neat 3D / shadow box look. I then surrounded the invitation with pictures of the couple and the engagement ring. I also used different cutouts with quotes and cool patterns on it. Her wedding colors were Lilac and Brown so I tried to keep that as my color template throughout the collage.  After I had completely covered the background with pictures, I put the frame back together. This project was super simple and a lot of fun!

I’m still new at this tutorial thing, hence not many pictures. The project is pretty self-explanatory but I will try to do better on my next project and give you more pictures.
